Eric A. Walters serves as the Director of STEM Education at Marymount School of New York, where he teaches AP Physics, Honors Physics, Atmospheric Science and Videography: Shot on iPhone. An Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Teacher, Eric believes that transformative teaching and learning occurs when students construct their own knowledge, collaborate with peers and then receive authentic feedback on their work. Eric also serves as moderator for the Student Tech Team @ Marymount, which plans the annual STEMxYouth Summit, a day-long celebration of STEM careers and learning experiences. Eric also serves at the moderator for CODE, the Upper School Coding Club; the National Computer Science Honor Society, which recognizes accomplishments in programming by girls and by those identifying as girls; and the Marymount Social Media Team, which offers monthly webinars on social media use from the teen perspective. Eric has a B.S. in Meteorology from UMassLowell; an MS in Atmospheric Science from SUNY-Albany; a professional certificate in online education from UCSD; and a certificate in television writing from UCLA. Eric’s book My Life with Liam (On Topanga Canyon Blvd): Tailspin was published in late spring 2020.
